Although there’s no doubt that Internet blocking is a useful tool in certain situations, it simply doesn’t work in business. Blocking websites often involves blocking entire categories of sites, many of which your employees need to do their jobs. Even more importantly, Internet blocking is a clear indication that you don’t trust your employees. If you don’t trust them, they won’t trust you. They’ll also most likely resent your attempt to control their online access, which will lead to resentment and an even lower level of productivity.
